Mirwaiz again barred from offering Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid | KNO

APHC spokesman said It's for the forth Friday that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has been barred from offering Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid and delivering the sermon as is the tradition and obligation of the Mirwaizeen for centuries. The spokesman said the arrogance of the authorities barring the Mirwaiz by force from leaving his house for the last four weeks ,even to offer Friday prayers completely exposes their claim of what they once called the "battle of ideas "and reflects their vengeful and dictatorial mindset.

 APHC spokesman said It's for the forth Friday that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has been barred from offering Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid and delivering the sermon as is the tradition and obligation of the Mirwaizeen for centuries. The spokesman said the  arrogance of the authorities barring the Mirwaiz by force from leaving his house for the last four weeks ,even to offer Friday prayers completely exposes their claim of what they once called the "battle of ideas "and reflects their vengeful and dictatorial mindset. Their highhandedness and use of brute force is an open admission of their defeat on an ideological and ethical front in dealing with the issue of political rights and aspirations of the people which the leadership represents.

The spokesman  said that harassment, arrests, torture, detentions, curfews, restrictions, putting people in jails is the order of day in Kashmir now for the past one year .joint resistance leadership, hurriyat activists and youngsters are put behind  bars and all space for expressing our political will  chocked and gagged the exercise of holding some futile so called by elections in this environment is a cruel joke being played upon the people and they are being put to further trouble and harassment.
The spokesman said Kashmir has been turned into an open jail, where any kashmiri holding a political view contrary to BJP RSS is liable to be killed and becomes a target of their forces. Those who protest against repression are showered with bullets and pellets and labeled as "over ground workers" of militants and their killing according justified.
Meanwhile, during the Friday address, Imam of Jamia Mashid, Imam Syed Ahmad Syed Nqashbandi, strongly denounced the killing of three civilians in Chadoora by the government forces. He also denounced the house arrest of Mirwaiz, other resistance leaders activists and youth throughout the valley.
 Later, the Hurriyat activists and workers took out a protest demonstration outside the Jamia Masjid. They protested against the Chadoora killings, aggressive policies of the state, human right violation arrests and detention of resistance leadership and large scale crackdown on Kashmir youth across the valley.
Spokesman also condemned the repeated nocturnal raids by the police on the house of veteran Hurriyat leader GN Zaki in Sopore and harassing his family.
